A short online check that gives students another chance to retrieve a missed word without turning help into a score.
Start with recall
A student hears an assigned word and writes it from memory. The practice records that first attempt before it offers a clue, so the result still says something useful about independent spelling.
Do not confuse help with mastery
Completing a prompt after seeing the answer is not the same as spelling the word independently. A missed word comes back after other work, with the help gone, for a later check.
Show the teacher a usable record
For every word, see the count correct on the first try, the count corrected after help, and the count still unresolved. These are concrete results, not a vague claim that a student has mastered a topic.
Keep student data small
A shared link is enough. Students do not need accounts, and teachers do not receive a feed of everything students typed.
